Octopus Craft Project

Difficulty: Easy

With its massive head, large eyes, and eight distinctive arms this octopus is a hilarious sight.

NOTE: Print out pattern as follows:

  • 74% for 4" x 8" Mini Bags
  • 100% for 6" x 11" Bags

Other Tools and Materials Needed:

  • Printer (to print pattern)
  • Shredded or Crumpled Paper
  • 1/4" Hole Punch
  • Rubber Band
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Project Steps:

  1. Step 1:

    Cut out the Pieces: Following the pattern (Octopus_pattern.pdf -See NOTE above) cut the pieces from Tru-Ray® Construction Paper. Also, cut a curved piece for the mouth and use the 1/4" hole punch to cut several dots of different colors to decorate the tie.

  2. Step 2:

    Assemble your Octopus: Open bag and fill 1/3 full with shredded or crumpled paper. Gather the bag and secure with a rubber band.

  3. Step 3:

    Cut the bottom into eight separate strips for the arms. Crumple and twist each one to shape it.

  4. Step 4:

    Glue on the remaining pieces of your octopus. Let dry.
